Revealing the cover of my debut book!

It's finally time to reveal the cover of my debut book, The Age of Pandora!

Planning and creating the cover art is the most fun part of the writing and publishing process hands down and I'm so pleased with the final result. It was surreal to see my own character brought to life and have it exactly as I've always pictured her.

So... without further ado...

I found my cover artist, Madli Art, through Reedsy and instantly fell in love with her design style. She has such an excellent portfolio and I was so excited when she agreed to take on my book!

In the brainstorming phase, I had so many random and disjointed ideas so it was helpful meeting with Madli and talking through it all. We considered what might work best and how we could make the cover as faithful to the story as possible.

When I received the first sketches of the cover from Madli, I instantly fell in love. After a few tweaks, she added all the colour and detail and it came together perfectly. We explored different fonts at length and I pondered over many details but it was an extremely fun process from start to finish.

I loved being hands on and in control of the cover art. I work in communications in my day-job so am used to having a sense of control of designs and fonts and all of that stuff so it was reassuring to have the same level of contribution for this. Basically... this is a long way of saying I'm a total control freak. :D

I am absolutely obsessed with the final cover and can't wait to see what people think! I can't thank Madli enough for her hard work on this!
